The DCU Series Season 2 Finale to Fix Significant Viewer Grievance, James Gunn Announces
Although audience feedback for Peacemaker the latest season has been largely positive, with fans and critics praising the acting and plot—even if the big twist in the seventh installment didn't come as a shock—one critique has only grown stronger as the season continues: dwindling episode runtimes.
Over the past few episodes, audience members have voiced frustration over the significantly reduced runtimes in season 2, and indeed, the episodes have been progressively briefer. The seventh episode, titled “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (not counting the recap, opening credits, and closing credits), making it the shortest episode so far.

Series creator and DC Universe head James Gunn stated via social media, responding to a disappointed fan.
Despite this news, it remains unclear what portion of the runtime will be brand-new content, free from opening and ending sequences, or recaps of previous events. However, should the finale includes all the aforementioned filler, that would still allow for roughly three-quarters of an hour for the concluding episode, which is a big upgrade after episode 7.
Gunn previously hinted that the last episode would not only conclude Peacemaker but also give a hint regarding the future the greater DCU at large will be moving and act as a kind of precursor for the next Superman movie. Given the brief appearance of the actor's portrayal of Lex Luthor from episode 6, fans expect a exciting guest appearance to conclude the show.
The show's season conclusion, the eighth episode, is called "The Full Nelson," and we'll just have to wait to find out if viewer theories are confirmed.
